Cooking the Italian Way: Inspired by Chef Michael Chiarello
Chef Michael Chiarello was a competitor on Iron Chef in 2013. Since then, his fans have watched him on Top Chef Masters, the Food Network, Fine Living Network, and PBS. He’s an Emmy Award winner and award-winning author, and was the owner of Coqueta, a tapas restaurant on San Francisco’s waterfront.
Known for his rustic-meets-refined approach to California-Italian cooking, Chiarello taught us that food isn’t just about ingredients; it’s about connection — to the seasons, to the people at our table, and to the joy of slowing down with a glass of wine while something wonderful bubbles away.
In this collection, you’ll discover kitchen inspiration that makes it easy to bring a little Napa warmth to your own kitchen. These dishes remind us that the best meals are equal parts flavor and heart.
Unfortunately, chef Michael Chiarello died on October 6, 2023, from an allergic reaction that caused anaphylactic shock and then a heart attack.
